Spelling Unit 15

Here is a partial list of words that you can use for review at home with the skills being taught at school. You will work with this list for Two weeks. As in the past, there will be words on the test that aren’t on this list.  Again, we are looking for students to learn and apply the phonics rules as opposed to learning a list of particular words. In addition, students will be responsible for learning to spell sight or “trick” words for each unit. These are words that don’t follow a regular spelling pattern; therefore they need to be memorized. The “trick” words will be at the end of the unit test and we will always tell you the “trick” words in advance.

Skills Taught: Vowel Teams > ou, oo, ue, ew

  1. Words that follow the spelling pattern: (Words that can be sounded out or tapped out) Reminder: Not ALL of these words will be on the Unit Test however; all of these skills will be on the Unit Test.
